Las juntas que no envejecen

EPDM O-Rings stand out thanks to their excellent behavior in the open air. The seals made in this material are extremely resistant to aging, even in very severe weather conditions.

EPDM O-Rings retain their properties even when subjected to large temperature differences. This feature mostly explains the presence of EPDM in the industry in general but also in the world of construction and in marine applications.

EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene) has a very wide temperature range, good resistance to ozone, weather and aging and is also particularly suitable for contact with hot water and steam. In addition, EPDM-made O-Rings are good electrical insulators. Finally, peroxyde-cured EPDM has a better resistance to temperature and chemical products and achieve higher compression values than sulfur-cured EPDM.

Properties and advantages

EPDM O-Rings provide a good resistance to:

  1. Warm water and steam.
  2. Alcohols, ketones and esters.
  3. Many organic and inorganic acids.
  4. Silicone oils and greases.
  5. Glycol-based brake fluids (special compounds).
  6. Ozone.
  7. Aging.

On the other hand, EPDM is no compliant with:

  1. All types of mineral oils products (oils, greases, fuels).

About EPDM

Ethylene propylene diene Monomer alias EPDM is a thermopolymer elastomer which provides good resistance to abrasion and wear. The composition of this compound stands between a 45% and a 75% ethylene content; the higher the content is, the best resistance properties the compound has.
