What is neoprene?
Neoprene (CR - Chloroprene) is a synthetic elastomer derived from polychloroprene, developed by DuPont in 1931. Its chemical structure provides excellent aging resistance, good performance against moderate oils, and great thermal and mechanical stability.
Unlike other elastomers such as NBR (nitrile), neoprene does not degrade as quickly when exposed to ozone and ultraviolet light, making it an ideal choice for outdoor applications.

- Thermal resistance: Can operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +100°C, depending on the specific formulation.
- Flame-retardant properties: In certain formulations, neoprene is self-extinguishing, making it suitable for applications requiring fire resistance.
